A rare original oil painting of the New England (most likely New Hampshire) countryside by renowned artist, Stephen Maxfield Parrish. Stephen Parrish is widely known as an etcher and his relation to his famous son, Maxfield Parrish. It is known that Stephen Parrish stopped painting entirely in the 1920s due to a stroke.
This painting incorporates some graphite and crayon as well as the predominant medium of oil paint. It is clearly signed in the lower right corner in his distinctive hand.
