An original aquatint of a Hawaiian woman dressed in a holoku. An arrangement of bird of paradise flowers in a glass vase is seen slightly behind her, sitting on the floor. Upon close inspection, you will see that the glass vase itself is etched with a bird of paradise design. This print has a complex range of tones and deep blacks, showing Kelly's mastery of the aquatint technique. It is one of his rarer images, not produced in great quantity. Over the past 30 years, we have seen two others which Kelly had created in entirely different color tones, making them completely unique in each version.
