16th-17th century Chinese blue & white export bowl of high fired stoneware with a slip glaze and cobalt blue design. It is in very good with a couple of minute rim chips. This export bowl, intended probably for Southeast Asia, has a very curious floral design on the outside painted in a way that allowed the cobalt to bleed into the slip resulting in a very indistinct linear definition. The interior of the bowl has a floral form design at the very center.
