19th-20th century lapis Chinese seal made from a lapis stone that was most likely from the Middle East. Lapis is a stone that is well known for its color in the Middle East. The form of this seal is rather unusual, with the single lug at the top through which a metal chain link has been placed. This is obviously something that was to be worn. The probability is that this was an early watch fob at some point; a real Western dressed dandy had incorporated the seal in his ensemble.
