19th century crackle glazed snuff bottle with a blue & white landscape. This bottle has a curious and uncommon form, having a body of porcelain with a mustard colored slip over the porcelain that has a crackle such as some of the works of the Song Period. Over the top of that, in a random pattern, there is an application of white porcelain, slightly raised above the background clay body. On the white area there is painted the scene of a landscape with the common image of the individual fishing by a small house, a large tree, and great mountains in the background. It is a typical bottle of the 19th century in form, except in the curious way in which it was manufactured.
