An original acrylic painting on canvas of the hala (pandanus) fruit on a subtle background of green/grey toned kapa patterns.

In traditional Hawaiian culture, the segments of the hala fruit were used as paintbrushes when the pith of the fruit could be removed and the fine fibers exposed. It was an important tool in the kapa making process.
