Contemporary necklace of graduated Hanashinju faceted black Tahitian pearls with 14k white gold clasp. The pearls were faceted by Komatsu Cutting Factory in Japan, and their signature is attached to the necklace. There are 41 pearls ranging in size from 8.7 mm to 10.8 mm. The necklace was designed by Mark Kane of Honolulu, Hawaii.
The Hanashinju faceted pearl was born by diamond cutting technology and has taken ten years to perfect, winning in 2009 the 3rd Monozukuri Nippon Grand Prime Minister's Award.
My designs are greatly inspired by this Tropical Paradise we call Hawaii. Every pearl is unique to itself and no two are exactly alike. I select only the finest quality Black Tahitian Pearls from Tahiti, and Golden and White South Seas pearls from Australia, Indonesia, and The Philippines. Only pearls with the most beautiful luster and color are selected. All pearls are guaranteed to be of natural color, not dyed or color enhanced. All stones in 14k gold are genuine stones or diamonds. The shimmering quality of 14k Gold and Sterling Silver are used in my handcrafted mountings to enhance these beautiful gems.
