4-panel Meiji Period (1868-1912) screen of a Heian Period outing. This is a scene of an outing by a lord and his retainers during the Heian Period. The lord is holding a bow and he has a quiver on his back. He is either hunting or shooting for practice. There are 3 horses and several attendants. The scene takes place along the side of a small stream. In the left corner is a blossoming cherry tree, and there is a momiji tree in the center. Therefore we know this is a spring scene. No signature.
