Mark Kadota

Mark Kadota was born in 1951. He is a self-taught multi-media artist that has lived from his artwork since 1970. He has also taught art in different times of his career at the de Young Museum, San Francisco, California and the Honolulu Academy of Arts, Honolulu, Hawaii to name a few. His art works have been exhibited and collected through out the world. He has shown through the Fine Arts Museum in San Francisco, California, the Contemporary Museum, Honolulu, Hawaii and the Stedelijk Museum?s-Hertogenbosch, Den Bosch, Netherlands. Seven museums in Europe and three in Hawaii have collected his artwork. He was chosen to be one of six artists representing the United States in the Today Museum for the cultural exhibition in the Beijing Olympics in 2008. In 2009 his artwork was included in the Rietveld Pavilion at the Venice Biennale.
The various media Mark uses are painting, sculpture, music, photography, writing, performance, video and sound installations.
Kadota currently live part-time in Amsterdam, the Netherlands and the other time in Hawaii.
