H.H. Wong, grandson of famed Chinese artist Yi Ru Huang, is a product of China's diverse history. Born during China's momentous transition to Socialism in 1946, he was introduced at an early age to the world of letters and art in his home province of Guang Dong. By 1957, at age 11, he studied under the tutelage of famous Cantonese artist Ren Ding Fang. Today Mr. Wong resides in Honolulu. His colorful background, encompassing a turbulent moment of China's history, has resulted in a unique style of expression that bears a stamp of the finest of traditional classical painting combined with the nouveau monde. While his paintings are still exhibited in China, Mr. Wong?s works are well represented in the Honolulu community with numerous one-man shows and many pieces in corporate offices, public offices, and private collections. He is listed in several publications, including the World Dictionary of Chinese Artists.
