"My body renewed,
my heart refreshed
freed from the world of sorrow
by the sight of blossoms at daybreak
on Mt. Arashi"
This piece dates from Rengetsu's late 60's / early 70's. It is a very unusual example of her painting style. The contrast between the evergreen pine and the transitory, delicate cherry blossoms is especially intriguing.
