This hand-colored etching of one of India's most famous landmarks is in excellent condition with vibrant color and strong impression. It is signed and numbered in graphite in lower margin.
This original rounded-corner wood frame was made by the artist's wife, Catherine "Kate" Bartlett.

"My mother was born in Hilo in 1909. My grandparents were Judge Harry Irwin who practiced law in Hilo until 1916 and Ruth Guard Irwin. The Guard & Irwin families were early on in Hawaii. My grandparents later moved to Honolulu where this Charles W. Bartlett print, Taj-Mahal From The East, was purchased by my grandmother Ruth Guard Irwin."
