Fireflies want to be part of the spectacle.
Cormorant fishing was conducted at night on the Uji River. It was a spectacular sight— bonfires hanging from the boats to attract the fish, cormorants splashing into the river, rising with their catch and spitting it out, fireflies and other insects flitting about the scene.
The teapot is well crafted, with a number of flourishes, including a cute frog on the lid. The pot and the lid have a different shade due to being fired in separate locations in the kiln.
