Tibetan 18th-19th century copper repousse image of a Buddhist deity being borne on a chariot. Copper repousse works are a strong part of Buddhist artwork. Repousse is not an easy medium, especially with as deep a relief as this one. The deity, which may be Surya or Tara, is shown standing behind a chariot driver with horse protruding below. The mandorla has the overall form of the lotus petal.
